When Skerryvore formed in 2005, a decade would have seemed like a long time away. Yet they celebrated 10 years together in 2015 and have strengthened musically since then.
Originally a four-piece band, Skerryvore have evolved to become seven strong. Their music marries together traditional instruments such as the accordion, fiddle, pipes and whistles with modern bass and guitar. Their instrumental talents mixed with their lyrical abilities create a unique sound.
The group are just as comfortable performing in far-off cities such as Chicago, Munich or Amsterdam as they are in Inverness, Glasgow or Oban.
Skerryvore have six CDs under their belt – including Decade, which features live performances of many of their songs and tunes.
Their festive return to The Lemon Tree is guaranteed to lighten the mood and create a tremendous, feel-good party atmosphere. They will be supported by Tide Lines, a four-piece Scottish band which is heavily influenced by the traditional music of the Highlands and Islands.
