There will be scenes reminiscent of Germany’s Oktoberfest celebrations in Moray today, when a musical ensemble stages its own beer festival.
The Friends of Moray Concert Brass is teaming up with a local brewery to hold the third annual Beerfest event at Elgin’s Bishopmill Hall.
The first pints of the day will be poured at 3pm, and the revelries will continue until 11pm.
Moray Concert Brass’s German-inspired Stein Brass band – featuring trumpets, a tenor horn, a euphonium, a trombone, a tuba and percussion – will play for 40 minutes of every hour.
And music will be piped in when they are having a break, to keep the party spirit flowing.
Musical director for the brass band, Glenn Munro, said the past two years’ events had raised a combined ÂŁ3,000 towards trips abroad.
Today’s celebration has been organised to raise cash to send 60 members to Holland for a tour this summer.
Mr Munro said: “It would be nice to build on our past events, and there is usually a great atmosphere at our Beerfest days.
“There will be music playing and people having a good time, and the money raised will help our young musicians to experience the tour.
“Tickets are nearly sold out, but if there’s space in the hall, we can let more people in at various times.”
Although the event will focus on beer, organisers confirmed cider, wine and soft drinks will also be available.
The Windswept Brewing Company is helping arrange the bash, and will supply a range of products.
Marketing manager, Julie Smith, added: “We’ll do everything we can to make sure it’s a great success for Moray Concert Brass.”
