Extra tickets have been released for a hotly-anticipated gathering of superheroes and villains in Inverness.

The Inverness Comic Con – known as NessCon – experienced a “surge” in demand before selling out last month.

The event is billed as Scotland’s newest Comic Con and is being held for the first time at the Eden Court Theatre in Inverness on July 8 and 9.

The pop culture event will showcase weird and wonderful items from movies, computer gaming, comics, anime, television, gadgets, clothing and toys.

It will be attended by about 50 exhibitors and fans will have the chance to meet the likes of Jason David Frank, the original Green Power Ranger, MIltos Yerolemou from Game of Thrones and Josh Herdman from Harry Potter, among many other guest appearances.

Wildwoodz paintball park, near Munlochy on the Black Isle, will also be arranging a laser tag event at the conference.

Due to the demand, organisers Highland Heart Events said it had been in talks with Eden Court Theatre and had now managed to agree upon a limited number of extra tickets.

Darrel-John Paterson, the event director, said: “We are very excited about the release of extra tickets for this event, every day we get contacted about tickets for the event.

“I am pleased now that customers are able to purchase them and attend the event.”

The organisers added that there would be no further ticket releases and they will not be sold at the door.

Tickets cost £15 per day for adults, or £25 for the weekend, with children able to go for half-price, and can be purchased online at www.highlandheartevents.co.uk/tickets
