Mums and daughters are being invited to sign-up on Mother’s Day – this Sunday – for charity fun-run events planned for Inverness in May.
Bught Park will host 5k and 10k events on May 21 as part of Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life calendar.
Money raised will help its scientists find new ways to treat cancer.
Event manager Katie Palmer said: “We’re urging mums and daughters in Inverness to make this Mother’s Day extra special by signing up to Race for Life.
“It’s the perfect opportunity to spend quality time together, create precious memories and join like-minded women determined to beat cancer sooner.”
Race for Life events are non-competitive. Entrants can choose to walk, jog or run the course.
According to the charity, 88 people are diagnosed with cancer each day in the Scotland.
One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with it at some stage in their lives.
The charity says the brighter news is that more people are now surviving cancer than ever before.
Thanks to the generosity of its supporters, the charity was able to spend more than £33million in Scotland last year on scientific and clinical research.
