Iona, a folksinger from Aberdeenshire, was Crowdfunding to raise funds for her album of folksongs, drawing inspiration from her home and revivalist singers of the north-east.
When does your weekend start?
My weekend starts at different times each week. Last week, my weekend started and finished on Sunday.
Perfect night in?
A Netflix night in watching Pretty Little Liars, but having a night in with friends singing and playing music is just as good.
Perfect night out?
The cinema is a great night out. No phones. I try to go to concerts of different musical genres too.
Ideal weekend partner?
Dan Humphrey from Gossip Girl, hauns doon. But I guess my boyfriend Ross will have to do for now. Sorry Ross!
Favourite weekend shopping destination?
Clothes shopping generally gies me the fear. But I did fall in love with the shops in Copenhagen. It’s all very chic and vibrant.
Favourite place to walk?
Fittie in Aberdeen, the Battlehill in Huntly or Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow.
Weekend you’d love to live again?
The last weekend of Celtic Connections. I’d love to relive the North East Old Roots New Shoots project and the final of BBC Scotland Young Trad final.
Weekend you’d hate to live again?
I don’t think I’d hate to live any weekend again. There’s always a positive enjoyable part of a bad weekend.
Your cure for the Sunday blues?
Folk sessions from 2pm until 3am on Sundays. Although this may not be conducive to a productive Monday.
Your dream weekend (if money was no object)?
I’m in love with Oslo. It’s so like Aberdeen, in temperature too. The music and culture are so similar.
