Aberdeen Lifeboat to hold annual fun day: Here’s everything you need to know
ByRaja Sharma
Aberdeen Lifeboat’s annual fun day will be boosted by the Coastguard’s search and rescue helicopter as one of its major attractions.
The Mayday Family Fun Day, at Deeside Activity Park near Aboyne this Sunday, will include a visit from a Sikorsky S92 helicopter unless an emergency is called.
The free event aims to give families an insight into enjoying the Scottish outdoors safely, with different teams of emergency services present to give talks and demonstrations about the equipment they use in the event of an emergency rescue.
Ken Howie, owner of Deeside Activity Park, said: “Most of the groups participating are volunteers who give their time freely to protect the rest of us.
“Deeside Activity Park is a really big part of the community and we are delighted to welcome them to spread their important public safety awareness messages.”
The event will be opened at noon by the Gordon Highlanders Pipe Band and will run to 4pm.
