Local charities are being invited to compete for a pot of cash in The Black Isle Show’s first ever tractor pulling extravaganza.
A prize pot of £2,500 is up for grabs in the competition, with the biggest prize being £1,000.
Taking place in the Mannsfield Showground, on the show’s preview event on August 2, the tractor pulling contest is open to teams of up to five people.
Drivers must wear fancy dress and there will be various prizes such as the team with the oldest combined age and best looking team.
Rod Mackenzie, the Black Isle Show’s, secretary, said: “Tractors are at the heart of modern farming nowadays and vintage tractor shows and rallies and also ploughing contests are getting great footfall around the country, even with those who have no interest in farming. We thought that we would combine these two aspects and have a bit of fun.
“The Back Isle Show is also in its 180th year and we have been massively supported by the local community over this time and we want to give something back.
“Whether you are a parent and toddler group, and after school club, or are looking for money to do something in your local area, we want to hear from you and we want you to take part. It will be a lot of fun and participants need absolutely no experience in using tractors.”
The main day for the Show is August 3 and will feature the usual favourites such as the livestock parade, more than 300 traders and stallholders, the craft and food hall, funfair and speciality bars and beer tents.
