Approached down a tree lined drive Finzean House was the family home of Joseph Farquharson, the Victorian landscape artist. The garden and surrounding countryside was the backdrop for several of his painting.
As you wander around the lawns and shrub borders you can see the lovely views across the historic holly hedge to the front of Clachnaben. Colourful shrub beds, herbaceous borders and wisteria in bloom set of a very attractive country house.
There is a well laid out cut flower garden for late summer and a recently restored pond.
Head to the house and gardens this Sunday for a great day out and support ‘Forget Me Not’, a local dementia charity.
Enjoy a day with something for everyone followed by delicious homemade teas served in a delightful setting.
