Susan Welsh saw Eleanor Conway: Walk of Shame 2 (Reality Bites) at the One Touch Theatre, Eden Court.
Comedian Eleanor Conway isn’t shy when it comes to discussing the parts of her life most of us would prefer to remain private.
And in this show, a follow up to her hit, Walk of Shame, she presented a no-holds barred insight into her life since she became sober.
Without drink and drug-tinted glasses, she confessed life is pretty harsh without something to take the edge off.
Online dating apps are her new addiction.
Some of her stories were brutally frank but not always laugh out loud funny.
A good storyteller, she engaged well with the small audience who had come along, some of whom were also open to sharing stories of their own sex lives.
A bit of an eye opener for a wet Thursday night in Inverness…
Adult humour prevailed throughout, sometimes delivered in a slightly shouty, frantic way.
Yet, there was also a hint of fragility there, as, at 40, she is still hoping to find Mr Right.
Post-show she invited the audience to stay on and hear excerpts from her new show she will bring to the Edinburgh fringe later this year.
A work in progress but one with a few gems that, with a bit of work, could make the show sparkle.
