It’s important we all heed the message to stay at home this Easter.
Many people will have had to cancel their Easter plans, whether they were going to visit family or booked a restaurant table for lunch.
But families will still want to find ways of keeping their children entertained.
So instead, one idea is to replace what you would have done with similar activities inside the home.
Here’s six ways to celebrate the festival, courtesy of NetVoucherCodes.co.uk:
1. Easter bonnets
A great way to spend some time with children and do some arts and crafts is to create Easter bonnets.
If you have any hats in the house which you were planning on throwing out, grab some scissors and remould them to create a different design.
Use paint and glitter to create the ultimate Easter bonnet.
2. Egg hunt
Hide little chocolate eggs around the house and garden.
Adults and kids will enjoy spending some time trying to find the chocolate and the competitive spirit needed will help blow off some steam and energy.
3. Easter lunch
Instead of dining out with family members, you could organise a time slot for a video call with family and friends so you can all sit down round the table, albeit virtually, at the same time.
You could also come up with an Easter-themed quiz to test your family’s knowledge.
4. Painted eggs
Hard boil some eggs, and when they’re fully cold, have fun painting and decorating them.
Then roll them in the garden or inside the house.
If you do go outside to do this, make sure you adhere to social distancing advice.
5. Church service
For many, this is a special time of year to attend church.
Many churches are now offering virtual services, meaning the essence of Easter can still be remembered and celebrated.
6. Sweet treats
It’s the time of year to enjoy traditional Easter treats such as Simnel cakes, hot cross buns and chocolate nests.
The latter are easy to make at home, and a great way to get the kids involved.
Simply melt down chocolate and stir in cornflakes to then put in cake cases.
Decorate with mini chocolate eggs and enjoy!
