Duran Duran will soon perform their biggest hits in Inverness.
From when they’ll perform and how to get to the venue, to who the support act is, here’s everything you need to know about Duran Duran’s much-anticipated show in Inverness.
When and where will Duran Duran perform?
Duran Duran will bring their Future Past tour to Caledonian Stadium in Inverness on Saturday July 2. The gig will start at 6.30pm. This will be the first time the influential band will play in Inverness.
What are Duran Duran best known for?
Formed in Birmingham in 1978, pop megastars Duran Duran are one of the most commercially successful bands of all time. Sleek and fashionable, the English new wave band are also known for their groundbreaking music videos from the early 1980s.
More recently, Duran Duran, which has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, released their latest album Future Past in 2021. They’re currently on tour in support of their newest recording.
Talking exclusively to The Press and Journal from his Los Angeles home, Duran Duran bassist John Taylor told us the band ‘jumped at the chance’ to perform in Inverness for the first time.
He said: “There is such a romance around that part of the country.
“Playing in Inverness is a very romantic idea and I hope we get the time to hang about there.
“It is a little bit different as we are so used to playing Glasgow and Edinburgh.
“Inverness is going to be great as it is always a party when we play liv – a party with feelings.”

Which songs will they perform?
Hungry Like The Wolf, Ordinary World, Rio, and Girls On Film are some of the band’s biggest hits. Inverness fans can also look forward to singing along to some of the newer songs from the band’s latest album Future Past.
Who’s support act?
English acoustic singer Jack Savoretti will be the warm-up act for Duran Duran. The talented musician has released seven studio albums to date, with his 2019 album Singing To Strangers becoming his first number-one album on the UK Albums Chart.
Some of the singer’s well-known singles include Soldier’s Eyes and Human.
How do I get to the venue?
Caledonian Stadium is located in East Longman in Inverness.
By car
Football Ground Guide recommends: Continue on the A9 through Inverness and at the roundabout, just before the large Kessock Bridge that takes you across the Moray Firth, turn right for the road down to the stadium.
By train and bus
Inverness Railway Station is about a 30-minute walk (1,5 miles) from the venue. Stagecoach buses 25 and X25 – departing from Inverness Bus Station (a 4-minute walk from the train station) – can get you to Seafield Road. From there, it’s a 12-minute walk to the stadium.
