Stonehaven was alive to the sound of music this weekend as the town’s hugely-popular folk festival burst into glorious life.
From blistering concerts with top names, like Kris Drever, in the Town Hall, to fun family events like an aqua ceilidh in Stonehaven Open Air Pool, it was a weekend packed with great tunes and big smiles.
There was even a touch of Eurovision when the festival’s famous World Paper ‘n’ Comb Championships used the international event as a theme this year.
And everywhere you turned in Stonehaven there was music – from the free concerts in a marquee on the Market Square on Saturday and Sunday through to the traditional “sessions”.
The latter involved musicians and singers getting together and jamming, folk-style, in the town’s pubs, hotels and other spots. It makes for a busy Stonehaven Harbour on a sunny day.
Our photographers were there to capture the spirit and atmosphere as the Stonehaven Folk Festival hit the high notes for the first time in three years.
Take a look and see if you spot any familiar faces … or even yourself.
