Looking for family-friendly things to do this summer? Why not take your kids to the theatre or encourage them to take part in creative workshops?
Live theatre offers children the chance to engage in a fictional world and lets their curiosity run wild in a fun and safe environment. There are also studies showing that engagement with drama encourages creative thinking and originality.
Being part of local theatre groups can help children build self-esteem, teach them how to collaborate with others, how to be patient and tolerant. and even help them with time-management skills.
So, we decided to round-up some of the best family-friendly events in Aberdeen that you can take the little ones in your family to see this summer.
And when you scroll down, you’ll also find a few workshops – including a writing and illustration workshop with Sheena Blackhall and a jukebox musical workshop – that older children may be interested in.
