Top Scots comedian Frankie Boyle is heading for Aberdeen’s Music Hall – and venue bosses expect tickets for his gig to be snapped up quickly.
The funnyman, renowned for his often controversial dark humour, is hitting the road for a tour of the UK next year, including a date in the Granite City.
Announcing his new Lap Of Shame show, Frankie tweeted: “I’m doing a tour. I don’t really want to but my family need a break”.
And a blurb on ticket sales sites reads: “Frankie Boyle’s on tour. Buy a ticket, because by the time he arrives, the currency will be worthless and you and your neighbours (will be) part of a struggling militia that could probably use a few laughs.”
Frankie Boyle sold out His Majesty’s on his last live tour
Aberdeen Performing Arts director of programming and creative projects, Ben Torrie, expects tickets for the gig to be snapped up when they go on sale.
He said: “Frankie Boyle has always been hugely popular when he has performed in Aberdeen including his two most recent sell-out shows at His Majesty’s Theatre in 2019, and we’re sure it will be the same when he comes to the Music Hall next April.”
An acclaimed stand-up since 1995, Frankie first found widespread fame as one of the original regular panellists on Mock The Week when it began in 2005.
He has since fronted his own TV shows, including his satirical chat show Frankie Boyle’s New World Order on BBC Two.
The comedian, who has often courted controversy with his no-holds-barred jokes, recently turned his hand to being an author with his novel, Meantime, a noir thriller set in Glasgow.
When will Frankie Boyle be at the Music Hall in Aberdeen?
His Lap Of Shame tour will be at the Music Hall on April 2 next year, with tickets going on sale at 10am on Friday November 4.
