Nothing stirs the heart or blood like the sound of a pipe band playing, but if you head for Aberdeen Music Hall this Saturday, May 2, you can expect to be stirred twice as much, as there’s not one, but two fabulous world-class pipe bands prepared to entertain you.

Bucksburn and District Pipe Band presents its annual, hugely popular, North of Scotland Pipe Band Concert entitled Reinvented at the venue, and joining them will be the current World Drumming Champions and 15 times World Pipe Band Champions Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band, led by pipe major Ryan Canning and leading drummer Jim Kilpatrick.

The concert is a fitting start to the pipe band season, and offers a chance for band members and supporters to get together under one roof for a cracking night of entertainment. Gus McAskill, Bucksburn president, said: “Every concert to date has given something very special to the north-east of Scotland and Reinvented will be no different with the current World Drumming Champions adding to what I’m sure will be extra special for the drumming lovers in the audience.

“Ryan and Jim have ‘reinvented’ the band and continue to build on their success from 2014 with the band’s first live concert in years. Ryan has given Shotts a new lease of life with his enthusiasm, knowledge and, of course, his reputation as one of the most popular composers working today. It’s going to be another fantastic night.

The show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets from Aberdeen Box Office on 01224 641122 or www.aberdeenperformingarts.com
