VIDEO: Watch first ‘Trainspotting 2’ teaser trailer

The hotly-anticipated sequel to Scottish cult classic Trainspotting has taken another step forward with the release of its international announcement trailer.

Featuring footage from the 1996 original, the trailer confirms that shooting has begun on ‘T2’, with an expected UK release date of January 27, 2017.

The film is set to reunite the original cast with director Danny Boyle in a story loosely based on Irvine Welsh’s novel Porno, which follows the characters 20 years on.

The film is set to be released in 2017 to mark the 21st anniversary of the original film.
