Already being touted as the thriller of 2018, with a film adaptation already in development, it’s worth investigating.
Dr Anna Fox, an agoraphobic, lives alone in her New York home and splits her time between watching old black and white movies, chatting on an internet forum and observing the world outside her window.
Then one day, Anna’s life changes when she witnesses something in the house across the street.
Self-medicating and drinking too much, her story isn’t very credible and Anna descends into a downward spiral of paranoia, leaving the reader unsure who to trust.
It’s dark and atmospheric, the characters well developed, and with the suspense building as the story progresses.
This is a gripping, twisty tale, and a must read for fans of psychological thrillers.
