Glasgow-based author Daniela Sacerdoti’s eagerly awaited third novel is finally here – and it was well worth the wait.
Following on from her first two best selling novels (Watch Over Me and Take Me Home), Set Me Free is the story of Margherita and her unforgettable summer in Glen Avich.
After the collapse of her marriage, Margherita decides to leave London for the Highlands to spend time with her mother in the family coffee shop, La Piazza. She thinks the tranquillity of Glen Avich will help her reconnect with her children, Lara and Leo and get her life back on track.
But Margherita gets more than she bargains for there. She meets local man, Toucuil and she begins to see life differently. However, just when life seems to be picking up for her everything changes and she’s confronted with some life changing decisions.
Set Me Free is an absolute joy to read, the story is engaging, the characters are believable and the writing is lovely. Ms Sacerdoti has already made quite an impression in the world of books with her first novel selling more than 445,000 Kindle books before the paperback hit the shelves.
The novel also comes with a mini recipe book containing recipes inspired by Margherita and La Piazza coffee shop. I think it’s a rather sweet touch to include some genuine Italian recipes connected
to the novel. I’ve already tried the Amaretti recipe and they were delicious.
Set Me Free is definitely a book to add to the summer reading list, and one that you won’t be able to put down.
