Cognitive hypnotherapist, Dawn Walton has written a revolutionary book that helps readers understand how the subconscious drives behaviours that get in the way of our lives.
Dawn, 42, who has an office in Aberdeen, wrote The Caveman Rules Of Survival after seeing a pattern from working with hundreds of clients. “It struck me, as I worked with more and more clients, that our brain needs a software upgrade,” said Dawn. “Whilst physically we have evolved, the brain is still working on a set of rules that come from the caveman days. If you think about the fight or flight response; your heart beats faster, adrenalin courses through your body, and you find yourself on a high state of alert.
“This is designed to give us the best chance of surviving an encounter
with a sabre toothed tiger. And yet there are no tigers any more. In
fact there are no predators. However we can all relate to those
physical symptoms; we call them nerves, anxiety, or even a panic
attack.”
Dawn applies what she has learned about the caveman rules of survival,
to quickly and effectively get to the root of a client’s issue. The
book aims to get the message across that you don’t have to be stuck
and offers sensible advice on how to get back on track.
