Scottish rockers Runrig have confirmed they are “exploring” new ways to help disappointed fans who couldn’t get tickets for their farewell concert.
All 25,000 tickets for the goodbye open-air concert in Stirling next year have sold out.
The band, which was founded on Skye in 1973 and enjoyed UK chart success with Gaelic songs in the 1990s, are retiring after 45 years in the music business.
Their final gig will be staged in Stirling’s City Park on 18 August, 2018.
The tickets sold out shortly after going on general sale at 10am on Friday. Some fans have subsequently complained touts are now selling the tickets at up to £1000.
But, in a message on their website, the band revealed: ”Runrig is overwhelmed and humbled by the amazing response it’s received from fans for tickets to The Last Dance.
“Tickets sold out in record time…. and we appreciate that some fans were unable to get tickets and have been left disappointed.
“We are exploring other possible options so that more of our fans can join us one last time.
“We will have more news next week.”
