A north-east radio station which has been on the airwaves since 1994 will play its final song tonight. Kintore-based NECR ceased broadcasting amidst what were said to be difficult trading decisions and growing pressure from the internet. The station broadcast across six frequencies stretching from Fraserburgh to Deeside. It boasted a large number of loyal fans keen for its nightly ceilidh and “country jamboree” hours.
