Americana Cavalcade signals new tune for Perth Racecourse
Perth Racecourse has announced its first major non-racing event day in the form of a country-and-western-themed music festival.
Taking place this Saturday (June 7), the Americana Cavalcade will celebrate Scots artists and bands with their roots in Americana music and will showcase acts from Perthshire, wider Scotland and as far afield as Sweden and America.
Aberdeen-based re-enactment favourites The Northern Rough Riders will make an appearance alongside Highland country artists such as Married in a Fever and Dave Fleming. Other big-name acts include 60s band Vanity Fare, Perthshire-based Red Pine Timber Co and American Singer Charlie Roth.
The cavalcade will extend the weekend’s more-established festivities, with the City of Perth Gold Cup race meeting taking place on Sunday (June 8).
The Americana Cavalcade will be held at Perth Racecourse on Saturday, from 2-10pm. Tickets and further information are available from www.perth-races.co.uk
