All female quartet Astrid String Quartet are in concert at Nairn Community and Arts Centre tonight, Friday, July 25.
Formed in 2011 at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, they have since played in masterclasses with the Brodsky and Kreutzer quartets, Peter Manning and the Rachmaninov Trio and were recipients of the 2012 Mabel Glover string quartet prize.
Most recently, they were accepted on to the prestigious Live Music Now! scheme, a charity founded by Yehudi Menuhin to deliver high-quality live performances to audiences who might otherwise never have the opportunity to go to a concert.
As guests of Music Nairn, Astrid will play quartets by Purcell, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and Puccini – a diverse and immensely enjoyable programme not to be missed.
Tonight’s concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are available at the door or online at www.musicnairn.org.uk
