The British tenor will perform at HM Theatre on Thursday August 21 in a concert arranged by the Lord Provost’s Charitable Trust.
Performing alongside Aberdeen Sinfonietta, Russell will perform a varied and crowd-pleasing collection of numbers from across the musical spectrum, from opera and Neapolitan arias, to musical theatre, including hits from the Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables, as well as numbers from his latest album, Only One Man.
Proceeds from the concert, which is sponsored by BP, will be donated to Scottish social care charity Cornerstone.
Russell has been singing since he was a child and became known after performing at a working men’s club. His debut album, The Voice, shot up the UK charts, where he held the number one spot for a world record 52 weeks. Since then, he has recorded numerous smash-hit albums, and picked up a variety of awards, including four Classical Brits
