Boy band fans will be in seventh heaven as seven big names from the 1990s play Aberdeen on Wednesday evening. 5ive, Blue, 911, A1, Damage, 3T and 5th Story will play a one-night gig at the AECC as part of The Big Reunion Boy Band Tour.
And 12 readers of the P&J will be walking on air, as they have won free tickets to the event, including two pairs of VIP meet and greet tickets so the winners can go backstage and meet the stars.
The tickets, courtesy of Yvie Burnett, P&J columnist and voice coach to the stars, were up for grabs in Saturday’s YL magazine, and the winners are:
Mandy Laing, Stonehaven; Susan Aird, Alness; Karen Mair, Aberdeen; and Katy Ingram, Inverurie. Karen and Katy have each won VIP tickets as well as a pair of tickets.
The Big Reunion has been a hugely successful reality show on ITV2, drawing millions of viewers as top pop acts of the 90s join up for a reunion. Last year’s live tour attracted almost 200,000 fans, and included 5ive, Blue and 911, who are returning for this autumn’s 13-date arena tour.
The second series began in February with a new line-up including Boy Band Tour members A1, Damage, 3T and newly-formed 5th Story. The new supergroup is made of solo artists Gareth Gates, Adam Rickitt and Kavana, along with Another Level’s Dane Bowers and Blazin’ Squad’s Kenzie.
The latest series of the Big Reunion – which also features Eternal and Girl Thing – has seen explosive revelations by ex-pop heroes ranging from drugs to eating disorders.
