Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Julia Fordham is to perform at an up-close-and-personal gig at Aberdeen’s Lemon Tree on Monday, as part of a UK homecoming tour after years living and working in Los Angeles.

With a long and illustrious career, selling millions of records worldwide, the Brit star first burst on to the music scene in 1988, with the international hit Happy Ever After, followed by her highly praised album Porcelain, which included the hits Manhattan Skyline and Lock and Key. Her third album, Swept, featured the beautiful ballad Love Moves in Mysterious Ways, from the movie The Butcher’s Wife. It reached the Top 20 in the UK and the No. 1 spot in the Philippines.

Her 10th album, China Blue, is a collection of original jazz compositions, except for one song: a reinterpretation of Michael McDonald’s I Keep Forgettin’, with Michael himself contributing his amazing vocals.

Her latest project, Unusual Suspects, is an intriguing collaboration with Paul Reiser, creator and star of the hit TV sitcom Mad About You, and a gifted musician and classically trained pianist.

Julia Fordham will perform at the Lemon Tree, Aberdeen, as part of her Porcelain 25 tour on Monday, November 17, with doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from www.aberdeenperformingarts.com or by calling 01224 641122.
