May looks set to be a busy month for members of the Inverness Choral Society, with not one but two major events on its schedule.
The first promises to be a glorious evening of choral singing as it joins forces with Inverness Choral Sinfonia, under the leadership of Andrew Martin, together with a quartet of young soloists, to present Handel’s Messiah.
Conducted by Gordon Tocher, the 120-strong choir will present Handel’s best-known work at Eden Court on Sunday, May 3, with the concert starting at 7.30pm.
The choir hit the right notes recently after it presented the charity Sight Action with a cheque for £2,000 as a share of the proceeds from its marathon Christmas carol singing session, known as the Carolthon.
It’s hoping to make more sweet music as a number of members have been selected to take to the stage of Eden Court once more, this time to accompany well-known tenor Russell Watson during his concert on Friday, May 8.
