There’s an opportunity to get up close and personal with singer Russell Watson at Eden Court Theatre in Inverness and Perth Concert Hall this week.
Described as being able to sing like Pavarotti and entertain like Sinatra, Russell, who has survived two life-threatening brain tumours, is one of the world’s most prominent tenors, selling in excess of 7million albums worldwide. He has performed for some of the world’s greatest figures, including The Queen, former US president Bill Clinton, and collaborated with a host of musicians ranging from Lionel Richie to Meat Loaf.
He’s also a strong supporter of unsigned local artists and choirs. At both his shows, he’ll have members of local choirs join him on stage. In Inverness, that includes members of Inverness Choral Society and, for the Perth show, members of the Scottish Police and Community Choir.
Russell Watson is at Eden Court at 7.30pm tomorrow, Friday, May 8 (01463 234234), and at Perth Concert Hall at 7.30pm on Saturday, May 9 (01738 621 031).
