Lively band Scocha make their debut visit to Eden Court Theatre this Saturday. May 9 The five lads, all from the Borders, have a long-established reputation which has rightly earned them the label as one of Scotland’s leading folk’n’roll bands.
Since taking to the stage more than 20 years ago, when they first embarked on the music scene as a duo, Iain Scott and Davie Chapman (hence the name Scocha) have grown in strength, stature and numbers, adding electric and bass guitars and drums to the line-up and giving a sometimes more upbeat drive, yet still retaining that Scottish Folk genre of ballads and well-known traditional favourites which audiences are sure to know.
Foot-stomping numbers include Stirling Brig, MacPherson’s Rant, Killiecrankie, Ye Jacobites and Black Velvet Band, but there are also plenty of ballads and poignant and moving tracks to be enjoyed.
The band are hugely popular in the US, Canada and Europe and tickets for Saturday night’s show, which starts at 8pm, are selling fast.
