When you don’t have a regular job, every day is a Saturday. Perfect night in? In my attic with all my stuff around, lounging about. Perfect night out? A bowl of nosh in Chinatown and a trawl around Soho. Ideal weekend partner? Got a few fantasies, but seriously Tom Waits would be interesting. Favourite weekend shopping destination? Don’t do shopping, but if I did it would be an Oxfam store. Favourite place to walk? Wimbledon Common or Richmond Park. Weekend you’d love to live again? The weekend I chopped it off on the Grand National. As a non-gambler, £350 from a once-a-year bet was sweet. Weekend you’d hate to live again? The weekend Fulham FC dropped out of the Premier League. Perfect Sunday breakfast? An Arbroath smokie with two poached eggs, three slices of Holy Ghost (toast), coffee and marmalade. Your cure for the Sunday blues? Get down to the pub. Your dream weekend (if money was no object)? Kathmandu in the Himalayas – or, as us old hippies call it, Dogwomandon’t. Derek Hussey is lead singer with The Blockheads who play The Ironworks, Inverness, tonight, Friday, November 20.
