Eden Court only asks you to “pay what you can” for exciting new show

Theatre goers are being invited to “pay what you can” to see a new show coming to Eden Court in Inverness.

The registered charity has taken the decision to remove any pricing barriers for both performances of Out Of This World next week.

Currently on tour, the show is receiving rave reviews from across the country – so presumably plenty of bums should have been on seats, even at full price.

But management at the theatre believe that employing a “pay what you can” pricing policy will enable as many people as possible to experience the show.

Out Of This World is written and directed by the acclaimed Mark Murphy, who was behind the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games closing ceremony.

Tickets were originally £18 but this scheme gives more people the opportunity to see the show. Booking as soon as possible is advised.

Eden Court chief executive officer Colin Marr said: “The show isn’t a straightforward drama or play, it’s part drama, part visual spectacular, part physical theatre and being able to bring something so different here to Eden Court is really exciting.

“We don’t have access to enough of this type of work and we simply want as many people as possible to experience it.”

He added: “Above all though, what we’re really excited about is appealing to people who’ve never been to the theatre before so that they can see first- hand how incredible and diverse it can be. If Out of This World is the first thing you ever see in a theatre then we are supremely confident a lifelong love of live performance will follow!”

The show, a psychological thriller and medical drama, promises stunning aerial choreography, explosive special effects and “edge of the seat” storytelling.
