A musical based on the Reese Witherspoon film Legally Blonde is coming to Eden Court Theatre in Inverness.
EastEnders’ Rita Simons, UK Eurovision hopeful Lucie Jones, and Bill Ward, star of Coronation Street and Emmerdale, are the main players in the UK tour of the smash-hit Broadway and West End production Legally Blonde The Musical.
The show, running from May 7 to 12, also has two dogs in the cast, named Bruiser and Rufus.
Bruiser is already cast but producers have decided to hold auditions for “Rufus,” a big brutish dog, in every town and city on the tour – so watch this space, Inverness.
Rita Simons, who plays the serious Paulette Bonafonte, is best known for her role as Roxy Mitchell in Eastenders, for which she won several awards.
Starring as Elle Woods is Lucie Jones, who is currently playing Maureen in the 20th anniversary UK tour of Rent.
The all singing, all dancing, romantic comedy tells the story of college sweetheart and homecoming queen Elle Woods.
When her boyfriend dumps her for someone more serious, she heads for Harvard Law School, where she eventually upstages him.
Legally Blonde The Musical earned seven Tony nominations and 10 Drama Desk Award nominations during its Broadway run.
In the UK it was nominated for 5 Laurence Olivier Awards winning 3 including Best New Musical, and was nominated for 8 What’s onstage Awards winning 4 including Best Musical.
