A few lucky children from schools across the north-east got the chance to visit a large-scale recreation of a First World War trench earlier this week.
The Gordon Highlanders Museum in Aberdeen played host to the youngsters, as they unveiled the trench project to a select few on Monday.
Local actor Jack Elvey got into character and dressed as a private on the Western Front, to read letters from some of those who actually fought in the conflict.
