A recently-launched Moray arts group will invite curious residents into its studios today, so they can observe the creative process in action.
Artists working from the MC3: Creative Space centre in Elgin will throw open the doors to their base on the town’s High Street between 10am and 8pm.
The group transformed a former office block at the west end of Elgin town centre into a cultural haven earlier this year.
They converted rooms in the former Royal Mail delivery office into 18 studio spaces for a variety of mediums.
Project leader Charis Edward Wells is determined to offer her guests a warm welcome, and has arranged for live music performances and a plentiful supply of mulled wine and cider.
She said: “We have 13 residents working here at the moment, and all of them will be present.
“So, if people have ever been curious about the sort of art that is being produced in Moray, we would love for them to come along and see for themselves.
“People often ask me about what we do, and I want to be able to show them what we are about firsthand.
“We will have filmmakers, painters and media artists all offering an insight into their work.
“We expect the town will be busy with people visiting for the Christmas lights event, so this seemed the perfect time for something like this.”
Ms Edward Wells will run craft sessions across the day, and pieces produced by local youngsters during recent sessions will be exhibited.
There will also be a photographer on hand to take festive snaps of families visiting the venue.
Knockando-based folk duo Ali Mack will further enliven proceedings with a range of tunes.
