Members of the public are being invited to tread the boards and learn the secrets behind some of Aberdeen’s most beloved institutions.
A series of special backstage tours has been announced for the iconic Music Hall and His Majesty’s Theatre over the summer months.
Each session will take participants through the histories of each venue, allow them to take to the stage and see their surroundings through the eyes of a performer.
An Aberdeen Performing Arts spokeswoman said: “In the decades since it opened in 1820, the Music Hall has gained a reputation as one of the country’s finest halls, famed for its clear acoustics.
“It is a national treasure with decades of wonderful history behind it and its place at the heart of community and civic life is unassailable.”
She added: “The tours of His Majesty’s Theatre are 90 minutes long and are led by APA volunteers who will take visitors through its modern £7.8 million extension as well as the 111-year-old original building, designed by the legendary theatre architect Frank Matcham.”
The tours cost £8 per person and places can be booked at aberdeenperformingarts.com or by calling the box office on 01224 641122.
