Talented art groups from a north-east town have rallied together for a major new exhibition.
The collaboration called Fase One brings work by dozens of Fraserburgh area artists under one roof.
The exhibition at the town’s Dalrymple Hall and Arts Centre opened to the public yesterday and continues today and tomorrow.
It was spearheaded by the Fraserburgh Visual Arts Group which holds an open exhibition in the town every year. This time, the team decided to invited along the Broadsea Art Club, the Wednesday Art Group, D’Art and the Fraserburgh Photographic Society.
A spokesman for the event said: “By working together, the groups are able to put on an exhibition with a wide range of artistic styles, using many different media. There is sure to be something to suit everyone’s taste.”
If successful, the Fase (Fraserburgh Art Summer Exhibition) show could become an annual occurrence.
As well as artwork on display, group members will be hosting a series of demonstrations and workshops. Many artists and photographers will be on hand to offer advice to visitors.
Today from 2pm, Sandhaven artist Isobel Gregory will be teaching hot wax painting. A range of children’s activities will continue throughout the weekend, while members of the town’s photographic society will give talks on image processing, camera craft and photo composition.
A small photographic studio has also been set up for all budding David Baileys and a display of bygone camera equipment is also on show.
Admission to the show is free.
