The work of an internationally-acclaimed Scottish artist will be on display at a Lochaber gallery for the next month as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations.
The exhibition of paintings by Cara McKinnon Crawford at Resipole Studios, Acharacle, runs until September 7.
Ms McKinnon Crawford, who was born and raised in the Highlands, has been painting the sea and landscapes of Ardnamurchan for more than 20 years and her work hangs in major collections throughout the world.
Her Resipole exhibition – entitled Into the West – will feature some of her finest and largest paintings of the picturesque peninsula and will be her 20th solo exhibition.
She said: “I’ve been painting on Ardnamurchan for a long time and never fail to be inspired by this beautiful and ancient land. The colour here is very special and unique to this part of Scotland.”
Gallery owner, Andrew Sinclair, founded the gallery in a converted farm byre on the Ardnamurchan peninsula in 2004.
He said: “It’s terrific that Cara is bringing this major exhibition here as her work captures so much of what this beautiful part of Scotland means to so many people.
“What makes Cara’s work unique is that much of her painting is done on site.”
The exhibition was opened by Ross, Skye and Lochaber MP Charles Kennedy.
