An Aberdeen art student has won a competition to design the new logo for Stagecoach North Scotland.
Ondrej Culko, a student at Robert Gordon University’s Gray’s School of Art, was one of the more than 100 entrants in the competition to redesign the logo for Stagecoach’s Bluebird service.
He received a £1,000 cash prize, as well as the honour of having his design featured on Stagecoach buses all across the north and north-east of Scotland.
Mr Culko said: “My intention was to keep the logo as simple and smooth as possible to suggest comfort and a smooth drive.”
Steve Walker, the managing director of Stagecoach North Scotland said: “We were overwhelmed by the number of high quality entries submitted in the competition. Ondrej’s logo stood out to us and really compliments the Stagecoach brand.”
The new logo, which features the original Stagecoach colours of orange, red and blue adorning a bluebird design, was revealed by the Provost of Aberdeenshire Jill Webster at Crathes Castle.
She said: “I was honoured to be asked to unveil the Stagecoach North Scotland’s new Bluebird logo, an emblem which has been part of Scotland’s coaching history for almost a century.
“I would like to congratulate the designer of the winning logo, Ondrej Culko, for his original and creative entry which I look forward to seeing both in Aberdeenshire and beyond.”
