Local artists have been given the opportunity to showcase their work in the centre of Aberdeenshire’s newest town.
A purpose-built plinth has been designed and installed in Hume Square at Chapelton of Elsick, with the hope it will attract local artists to feature their work.
The plinth is home to a restored red telephone box featuring contemporary lighting, which has been designed by Lighting Design International.
And it is anticipated that a series of local artwork projects for residents and visitors will follow in the New Year.
The Duke of Fife, director of Elsick Development Company, said: “We are very excited to bring the telephone box to Chapelton as it’s a wonderful design and the light-show is a bit of fun.
“We look forward to seeing the work of local artists featured in future.
“The installation is the first of many local community arts initiatives in Chapelton and we hope it will be appreciated by residents and visitors.”
