A day trip in Lapland has been available from Aberdeen airport and is once again departing this December.
Imagine spending the day in Santa’s kingdom with a morning flight from Aberdeen and still being home in time for supper!
We decided to take a look at what you might discover if you were tempted to visit.
Flying into Enontekio airport, you are taken to a magical location in the far north of Finnish Lapland, close to a vast snow-covered wilderness and a million miles from other overcrowded and over commercialised Lapland destinations.
Typically, Lapland is seen as a destination to just visit Santa, however, there is far more to do in Lapland than simply indulging the children with handing over their festive wish-list. You might just be be surprised at what else can be squeezed into a single day trip.
Exciting snow activities
A fun packed day includes great winter activities, to ensure there is fun for all of the party. Highlights include: a snowmobile trip, husky sled journey and a reindeer sleigh ride. If you think this might leave you feeling cold, don’t panic, all thermal clothing is also supplied as part of the day.
After all of that, a two-course buffet lunch is served to help refuel the body.
Search for Santa
The highlight of the day arrives when you venture into the snow-clad surroundings in the hope of finding the hidden log cabin where Santa sometimes stays at this time of the year.
After a magical journey across a frozen river, each family will enjoy a private visit with Santa, who will find the time to talk to each child about their Christmas wishes.
