The ‘boys’ are back in town – and tickets to see them and their pals live are selling faster than pints in The Clansman, writes Susan Welsh
Sprightly Glasgow pensioners, Jack Jarvis and Victor McDade, have been lifelong pals. Just because they’re retired and widowed, doesn’t mean they’ve given up on life.
Instead, they take on everything modern day life can throw at them and are “still game” for a laugh, up for some excitement and always ready to for a bit of cheeky banter with Boaby the barman at their local pub, The Clansman.
For several years thousands of viewers tuned in each week to watch the Still Game TV show, which after a nine year absence, returned to BBC One this autumn – the final episode of the current series is due to air in November.
While Friday nights won’t be the same once this series is over, the good news is you won’t have to wait another year to see them again, as Still Game is returning to the stage for another live show.
The Press and Journal and Omega Travel have teamed up to run organise a special weekend break to see what’s set to be the hottest show of 2017, Still Game Live! This great Omega weekend break includes admission to the live show at the SSE Hydro, Glasgow, on Saturday, February 4, as well as return coach travel, hotel with breakfast, and free time in the city.
Advance booking is recommended as these tickets will sell out fast.
The last time the live show played the SSE Hydro in 2014, it sold out 21 consecutive live shows – yet some fans still missed out on seeing them live because all the tickets had been snapped up.
The new TV series has been attracting huge viewer numbers which shows that they have been sorely missed by their huge army of fans, many of whom will be hoping to find a ticket to see their comedy heroes play live, in their Christmas stocking!
An ideal gift for someone special, or something fun and cheery to look forward to yourself, this fun-packed and memorable weekend is guaranteed to chase away the mid-winter blues!
