What: The 17th annual Wooden Spoon charity rugby dinner.
Where: The Marcliffe Hotel and Spa, Aberdeen.
Who: More than 300 guests from the oil and gas, banking, wealth management and property sectors attended the event.
Why: The Wooden Spoon charity raises money for disadvantaged children throughout the UK. The North East of Scotland branch raises funds through its annual rugby dinner and has spent nearly £300,000 in Aberdeen and the north-east over the last 17 years on local projects. The guests all enjoyed an excellent meal followed by a Q&A session by rugby legends John Rutherford and Iain Milne with MC Peter Mitchell. The Flying Pigs provided great entertainment afterwards and nearly £38,000 was raised through the dinner, raffle and auction.
