Who: The event was hosted by Stewart Spence and was attended by 270 guests
Why: Banchory Sports Village is a project costing £7.8million which is to be built by Aberdeenshire Council with an expected opening in autumn 2017.
During the evening a question and answer session had Fraser Clyne as question master and two of the project’s patrons took part – Andrew Considine and Robbie Simpson.
The evening featured a live and silent auction and other activities raising in excess of £80,000.
Some 60% is now confirmed towards the £700,000 from the community for this project from Bandswim monies , local projects , personal pledges , and donations.
The target date is September 2015 and fundraising continues with further local events organised contributing to the Fund for Banchory Sports Village.
