It’s official: love is in the air. From Scottish tennis ace Andy Murray and girlfriend Kim Sears to former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and Formula One team boss Christian Horner – dozens of loved-up stars are set to head down the aisle in 2015.

If you and your other half are also boarding the love train and looking for a day to rival a celebrity wedding, a visit to the 20th Your Wedding Exhibition (YWE) should be at the top of your to-do list. The annual wedding exhibition is taking place on January 17 and 18 at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. Blushing brides and their future husbands can explore more than 200 Scottish exhibitor stands at the event and plan every aspect of their big day.
Having attracted over 3,500 visitors in 2014, this year’s exhibition is expected to attract more couples on the hunt for A-Z wedding must-haves and get a glimpse of the latest trends to hit the UK wedding market.
Simon M. Morgan, director of YWE, said: “It’s hard to believe that the exhibition has been running for two decades and we’re thrilled that it continues to grow in popularity and size, year on year. It launched in 1995, with just 70 exhibitors and 800 visitors. Today, we’ve more than trebled visitor numbers and the range of exhibitors, which come from all over Scotland, is vast.

“This year’s event will showcase everything from cakes and cars to flowers and favours; there are creative ideas to suit every wedding, no matter what size or budget. So if you’re looking for a low-key event, similar to Grand Slam winner Andy Murray or a more lavish affair, a la Ginger Spice, you’ll find inspiration to get wedding plans kick-started or to add the finishing touches.

“Out of the 50 new exhibitors we have attending this year, there are two companies which hire out VW Camper Vans – offering brides a very vintage way to get to the church in time. Thanks to celebrity influence, we’ve seen a growing interest in vintage weddings over the last few years and now have several retro-themed exhibitors onboard.”

The exhibition hosts a range of wedding-related companies, from photographers, fashion, florists and transport to entertainment and cakes. The fashion show showcases the finest wedding couture, from tots to the mother of the bride. Tiered seating will provide 750 visitors with the best possible views.

All brides-to-be will be entered into a free prize draw to win £500 to spend at this year’s exhibition. And don’t forget to visit the YWE stand for free Prosecco or coffee after filling out a feedback form.

The wedding exhibition will be open from 10am to 5pm and car parking is free. Tickets cost £10 for adults, with children under 16 free. For further information, visit www.yourweddingexhibition.com
