North-east gin fans turned out en masse to sample drinks from around 50 different brands in Aberdeen tonight.

The Gin To My Tonic Show is in town for the first time since the coronavirus outbreak in March 2020 and has taken up residency at P&J Live at TECA in Dyce for a series of events running this weekend.

Opening to the public tonight at 6pm for a two-day celebration, those interested in attending can also head along tomorrow (Saturday August 27) from noon until 4pm, or from 6-10pm.

Organisers are expecting around 3,000 people across all three sessions and revelers tonight were the first people to get the chance to sample the event and products from the exhibitors.

But it isn’t just gin that is available as The Craft Rum Show has teamed up with the gin event and forms part of the show, too. Those with tickets to either of the events will get access to exhibitors booked for both, meaning you can experience the best of both worlds.

From perfect serves to cocktails, not to mention other spirits like vodka and whisky, plus drink options, there is plenty on offer for those in attendance.  There will also be some complimentary samples that attendees can try, as well as larger drinks they can purchase.

Workshops and masterclasses will also be running for gin and rum fans to learn more about different brands and products.

The Gin To My Tonic and Craft Rum Show will also be operating bars to try unique products at too.

North-east brands based in the local area in attendance include:

  • HRAFN Spirits
  • Twice Buried Rum
  • Outlaw Rum
  • Cabezon Beverages
  • Foghouse

Tickets for the event are still available and are priced at £13 for the enthusiast package which includes unlimited tastings, access to free masterclasses and workshops,
access to hot and cold food, the shop and drop facility, a cotton tote bag and a show guide.
