The final month of the year is always packed full of entertainment.
Whether it’s heading out to the theatre for a pantomime or making a start on your Christmas shopping that you fancy doing this weekend, take a look at our top five picks of things to do for some festive inspiration…
Pantomime
With the festive season now upon us, this also brings a special season of pantomime to theatres across the country.
In Aberdeen, there are choices aplenty. Goldilocks and the Three Bears runs at The Tivoli Theatre until December 22, Cinderella visits Aberdeen Arts Centre until Christmas Eve while The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan comes to His Majesty’s Theatre into the new year until January 8.

Christmas shopping
If you missed out on some of the bargains in the Black Friday sales last weekend, fear not.
Local high streets are pulling out their light displays and enticing shoppers to visit during one of the busiest periods of the year.
But with times for many businesses currently tougher than ever, it’s never been more important to support the shops on our doorsteps.
Get ahead of the game and avoid the panic buying rush by heading out and picking up some presents for loved ones this weekend.
The Drifters
One of the most recognisable vocal groups in American music, The Drifters will be appearing at P&J Live in Aberdeen this Saturday as part of their latest UK tour.
The veteran vocal harmony group return to the stage to perform six decades of hits including Under The Boardwalk, Saturday Night At The Movies and Up On The Roof.
The Drifters have previously been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, as well as listed among the greatest artists of all time by Rolling Stone magazine.

Laser Workshop
If your children like the sound of giant lasers rather than Christmas at the moment, this activity should be up their street.
Suitable from ages 14 up to 25, An Lanntair in Stornoway is hosting a laser workshop this Tuesday.
In this crash course in laser show design and operation with multimedia artist Jack Wrigley, you’ll learn the fundamentals of how lasers work, how to create laser graphics and how to do it safely.
Free to attend but booking is essential. Visit lanntair.com for more information.
Bonhoga Christmas
For the festive season this year, Bonhoga Gallery in Weisdale, Shetland, has an exhibition featuring a diverse group of Shetland artists and makers.
Prints, embroidery, paintings, photography and paper cuts are just some of the artistic delights that people can browse and buy at the gallery.
