Where: Maggie’s Centre Aberdeen, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
Who: Around 50 ladies across the north-east gathered on the evening and enjoyed treatments such as hair-ups and hand and feet massages from local companies DeMilo, Dimensions, Waves, Hair House, Temple Spa and Michagemassage, as well as Fake Bake and beauty therapy students from North East Scotland College.
Why: The £1,534.23 raised from the event will go towards funding the centre’s day-to-day upkeep and core programme of support. It costs £500,000 annually to run the Aberdeen centre and it anticipates 8,000 visits in 2015 alone. Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and social support to people with cancer and their family and friends.
