What: Friends of Anchor hosted three shows across last weekend for this year’s Courage on the Catwalk event, which celebrated and honoured 24 women chosen to represent all those throughout the north-east who have faced cancer.
Where: The Beach Ballroom, Aberdeen.
Who: More than 1,500 people attended across the three shows including Friends of Anchor’s chairman Jim Milne, Aberdeen’s lord provost and representatives from sponsors Total E&P, Apache and Norse. Many of the models’ families were in attendance as well as staff from the Anchor Unit.
Why: Courage on the Catwalk recognises the bravery of everyday unsung heroes who have faced a cancer diagnosis; past and present. The £73,000 raised will make a direct difference to the care, treatment and support funded by Friends of Anchor within the Anchor Unit, as well as the charity’s vital support of cancer research projects undertaken by Aberdeen University research fellows.
