Bring together glitz, glamour and galloping and what do you get? An unforgettable and stylish day out when you attend the annual Stobo Castle Ladies Day event at Musselburgh Racecourse.

The second of Musselburgh Racecourse’s Super Saturdays, Ladies Day makes its fashionable return on Saturday, June 13. This year, it’s going to be even bigger and better, with a record-breaking attendance of almost 10,000 expected as the premier Edinburgh event welcomes a raft of gorgeous girls and guys from all over Scotland, all dressed to impress.

With prizes awarded for the most chic attendees, Scotland’s style set will be out in force in a bid to be crowned King and Queen of Style. And this year, the style stakes are even higher, with the best-dressed female in with the chance of winning a Mitsubishi Mirage from Belmont Wallyford, along with a £250 shopping spree courtesy of Edinburgh department store Jenners, a House of Fraser store.

“Every year, we see racegoers take the style stakes to the next level, with competition for the Best Dressed title getting tougher each time,” says Sarah Montgomery, commercial manager at Musselburgh Racecourse.

“This year’s Ladies Day is set to be more sophisticated than ever. With a party atmosphere that’s second to none, first-class racing and exclusive VIP entry, these last tickets really are the hottest in town.”

This year’s event will also feature a capital chic spectacular, with top Scottish stylist Laura Russell, of Satisfashion, producing a series of “must-see” fashion shows showcasing this season’s hottest looks. All this plus live music and, of course, top racing action, including the £100,000 William Hill Scottish Sprint Cup – Scotland’s fastest race. Keeping the party going, celebrations will go on into the evening on the Fashion in the Field stage with The Queen of Style Finale and After Racing Party, making this a Ladies Day to remember.

General admission tickets for the Stobo Castle Ladies Day sold out in record time, but racegoers can still attend by buying the all-inclusive VIP Marquee Package (£250+vat per person) which includes a dedicated table for 10, a champagne reception, premium two-course “alfresco” lunch, all-inclusive drinks package and guest tipster talk, plus access to the exclusive After Racing Party.

Doors to the racecourse, which is around six miles east of Edinburgh city centre, open at 11am, with the first race taking place at 1.40pm and the last one at 5.10pm. On race days, traffic is generally very busy, so racegoers are advised to allow plenty of extra time to get there. Free car and coach parking is available close to the racecourse and within an easy walk, or catch a special courtesy race-day bus which operates from Wallyford Park and Ride by the train station.
