Where: Mercure Ardoe House Hotel, Aberdeen.
Who: More than 300 guests attended from the oil and gas, banking, wealth-management and property sectors in Aberdeen.
Why: The Wooden Spoon charity raises money for disadvantaged children throughout the UK. The north-east of Scotland branch raises funds through its annual rugby dinner and has spent around £300,000 over the last 18 years on local projects.
Guests enjoyed an excellent meal followed by an entertaining talk by former Welsh rugby league and union player Scott Quinnell. Scott was sponsored by Dandara. Edinburgh funnyman Eric Davidson then rounded off the evening to much laughter. Almost £33,000 was raised through the dinner, raffle and auction.
